GO said a person was fatally hit by one of its train at the level crossing on Burloak Ave., south of Harvester Rd., around 8 a.m.
All Lakeshore West train service west of Oakville station was suspended as police investigated. The transit agency said buses would run between Oakville and Appleby.
The service was to resume with the Aldershot train at 10:06 a.m., GO said. Some minor delays were still expected.
Halton Regional Police said Burloak south of Harvester was expected to remain closed until at least 11 a.m.
