P.C. Yale dean slams ‘white trash’ on Yelp
June Chu (Yale University)
A Yale University dean who’s a high priestess of political correctness is being slammed for calling customers at local diners “white trash” and “morons.”
Safe space-loving June Chu — who identifies as Chinese American — is responsible for 500 students at the elite university’s Pierson College and aims to “support their (students) holistic academic experience and multifaceted identities.”
But on the side, like South Park’s Eric Cartman, she’s a Yelp reviewer.
Now, the touchy-feely titan is under fire after the Yale Daily News put the spotlight on Chu’s reviews of local eateries where she complains about fellow customers being “white trash” and “low class folks.”
As for the servers, they’s “barely educated morons.”
Cho wrote of a Japanese restaurant: “If you are white trash, this is the perfect night out for you!”
Worse, the resto lacked authenticity (“perfect for low class folks”) because the employees were Chinese and not Japanese.
In another, she wrote: “I guess if you were a white person who has no clue what mochi is, this would be fine for you.”
Yale administration and students were outraged by the pinhead sociology prof’s elitist worldview.
One student told the News: “These reviews make it clear how Dean Chu thinks about people who are different from her, and how she feels about New Haven.”
Chu has since apologized.
She e-mailed students: “My remarks were wrong. There are no two ways about it. Not only were they insensitive in matters related to class and race; they demean the values to which I hold myself and which I offer as a member of this community.”
