Get lost in GoT corn maze

Local Game of Thrones fans looking for some autumn fun can lose themselves in a GOTthemed corn maze at Cooper's CSA Farm Maze, near Uxbridge.

The 10-acre maze includes references to three houses that are going to play big roles in Season 7 of HBO's epic series - Stark, Targaryen and Lannister. Cooper's has been picking fun themes for its mazes since 2006, and previous editions have featured Ghostbusters, the Toronto Blue Jays and Breakfast Television. The maze will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. during Saturdays in October.

Hey Americans: you're pretty great

If you're from the U.S., we want you to know that we've got your back. In the past few days, a new campaign has been launched to combat the negativity surrounding this year's brutal U.S. presidential campaign. A creative agency from Toronto, the Garden Collective, has managed to get #TellAmericaItsGreat trending on Twitter, and its accompanying YouTube video has over 750,000 views. The video clip, which shows Canadians mentioning their favourite things about their southern neighbours, might bring a tear to your eye with its earnestness.

Director tweets Hamilton love

Guillermo del Toro has lots of love for the Hammer. The writer-director, who has worked on numerous projects in Toronto - like Pacific Rim, The Strain, Crimson Peak and others - has been shooting scenes for sci-fi drama The Shape of Water in Hamilton recently. And he's been letting his 437,000 Twitter followers know how much he enjoys the city. "Hamilton is full of promise and surprises: great bookstores, Antique shops, coffee shops, restaurants and art stores," he tweeted on Monday, after raving about the "best, fluffiest, chewiest fresh-made waffles ever" at Cannon Coffee Co. on Ottawa St. He continued telling his followers about his culinary journeys on Tuesday, singling out the "great pork popcorn" at Southern Smoke Barbecue House and the "solid brunch" at Papa Leo's.
